WHILE I WONDER

With minimal means, While I Wonder crafts a beautifully resonant soundscape, delivering concerts that dynamically build to a climax by adding more musicians and shifting the energy on stage. This Aalborg-based band is currently showcasing new self-composed and handcrafted releases, including May You Be Happy (2024) and Mate, You’ll Mate It (2024). These works were produced in collaboration with producer Mads Bjørn, known for his work with TV-2, Teitur, Kellermensch, and others.

Named North Jutland Jazz Artist of the Year 2023, Mads Houe Sørensen is the bassist and composer in the band. The piano is helmed by founding member Mads S. Ebbesen, who also performs as a regular musician in hip-hop artist ICEKIID’s band. Lead singer and songwriter Morten Møllgaard draws inspiration from artists such as Jack Johnson, Ed Sheeran, John Mayer, and Eddie Vedder.

All of this comes together in an exciting mix of folk, rock, jazz, and pop as While I Wonder takes the stage at Studenterhuset on Saturday, April 5th.

GUNNVA

The Faroese singer based in Aalborg, Gunnva, possesses a unique melancholic essence in her music and voice. Her lyrics beautifully navigate the boundary between romanticism and everyday realism, with a subtle touch of North Jutland charm. This evening, you’ll experience touching honesty and symphonic pop at its best as Gunnva and her band take the stage.

Gunnva’s music explores an intriguing blend of pop and folk formats, infused with elements of electronic music. The result is a cinematic, evocative soundscape that sparks vivid imagery for her listeners.

Her repertoire includes a handful of new songs, as Gunnva has been working on her debut album, set to be released later this year.
