Way Up North 2024 takes place on October 18th and 19th, 2024 at Studenterhuset Aalborg – Gammeltorv 10, 9000 Aalborg.

Since 2004, Way Up North has brought the best of North Jutland's music scene to Studenterhuset Aalborg’s three stages. Over the years, artists like Angående Mig, Farveblind, Ginne Marker, The Courettes, Hjalte Ross, Kogekunst, The Blue Van, Oh No Ono, Figurines, Johny Hefty, Mnemic, and many others have taken their early steps into the Danish music scene through Way Up North.
This year, the festival has partnered with the rehearsal spaces in Saxogade, which will present 12 artists on Saturday. For over a decade, this rehearsal community has fostered bands of all genres, with original music as the common thread – no cover or tribute bands allowed. The love for music and mutual support plays a big role in Saxogade, and the community often brings this togetherness to national and international stages.
Saxogade has a close relationship with 1000Fryd, where many bands have made their debut. Due to 1000Fryd's financial struggles with a major renovation caused by noise complaints from neighbors, Saturday will also feature a Benefit Show for 1000Fryd. All artists are donating their fees from Way Up North to support the venue and encourage others to do the same.
