Sofa Sessions – Local Soundtracks for Your Friday

🎶 Every Friday from 16:00–18:30 in the Café

Every Friday, we roll out the sofa in Studenterhuset’s Café and invite a local musician, artist, cultural figure or band to take over the music for 2.5 hours. They bring their own soundtracks – music that has shaped them, inspired them, or simply fills their playlists right now.

We provide the sofa, turntable, CD player and mixer – our guest provides the music and the vibe. This isn’t a concert or a dance floor – it’s a musical conversation starter in a relaxed setting, where you can sink into a soft chair and maybe discover a new favourite.

At the same time, our Friday bar offers good prices – so there's even more reason to stick around.

Maya Elisabeth Rathkjen

Maya Elisabeth Rathkjen is a true millennial nostalgist, letting her music take her back to the late-00s vibe of a teenage bedroom. Beanbag, hookah, and Det Elektriske Barometer set the stage for her record selection, where melancholic autumnal dream pop meets psychedelic grandeur, simple instrumentals, and alternative ’90s hits. She draws inspiration from artists like Björk, Neil Young, PJ Harvey, Radiohead, Dungen, Sonic Youth, Low, Mazzy Star, Slowdive—and maybe even a touch of Idles. Expect a cozy, emotive, and delightfully surprising musical journey as Maya spins her records in the café.
