Although Schæfer has only released three singles so far, the band has already established itself as one of the most daring and exciting new acts on the Danish music scene. The duo and longtime friends, Anna Skov (vocals) and Emil Mors (keyboards), write socially conscious, witty, and humorous songs that point fingers at both the world around them and themselves.

Schæfer has already toured across Denmark, playing sold-out shows in cities such as Copenhagen, Aarhus, and Aalborg — and it’s on stage that the band truly shines. The duo expands into an explosive seven-piece live orchestra, inviting the audience into a powerful collective where the musicians’ total presence and joy of playing set the tone. It’s jazzy, it’s poppy, and above all, it’s a striking display of strong songwriting — full of depth, playfulness, and a fearless, infectious energy.

GAFFA has repeatedly awarded Schæfer’s live performances five stars, describing their sound as “a kind of indie dream-jazz featuring delicious trumpet solos and layered backing vocals.” The magazine praised the band, writing: “What they deliver is nothing short of a small miracle.”

By the summer of 2025, Schæfer has performed at more than 15 Danish festivals, including Smukfest, Nibe Festival, and SPOT Festival. The year began with their debut singles ‘Chefer’, ‘Venter’, and ‘Din Yndlingssang’, which — in addition to radio play and rotation on P6 BEAT, P5, and P8 Jazz — received widespread acclaim from outlets such as Politiken, GAFFA, and Bands of Tomorrow.
