‘Mit barn’ – a new album and follow-up tour from Oskar Krusell

“If a child is coming, then a child is coming If a child is coming, then just let me be the father”

With his heart on his sleeve and porridge in his throat, Oskar Krusell returns with Mit barn — the follow-up to his 2023 debut album OSKAR. The new record contains eight songs conceived in a time of upheaval, when both a daughter and a postpartum depression arrived at once. Because what do you do when you love your child — but also feel like strangling it?

Oskar Krusell doesn’t have the answer, but instead lets the ambivalence, desperation, and euphoria seep into the songs, creating an intimate space for shame and all the things we try to hide but can’t escape. Like a cracked mirror held up to the cult of perfection.

Behind him stands his band — and just like the lyrics, the music is associative, playfully juggling tender folk, vacuum-cleaner noise rock, and polyrhythmic chaos. A universe where acoustic guitars and viola blend with electronics and overdriven amps that sound just as strained as Oskar himself.

About the album and its creation, Oskar says:

“Despite the heavy themes, I think the record is infused with hope. It’s a raw testimony from a time when music became a lifeline. I wrote these songs out of necessity and chose to shine a light on my own shadow sides, based on the thought: It’s not the feelings that make us sick, but everything we do to avoid them.”

Oskar Krusell is a North Jutland songwriter who, through his work with Kogekunst, Heathe, and Hjalte Ross, has established himself as one of the most intriguing voices in Danish music. Joining him on tour is his regular band consisting of Mads Lang, Rasmus Frandsen, and Søren Bøgeskov.

‘Mit barn’ will be released digitally and on vinyl on February 20, 2026.
