The name Oscar Danielson may not ring a bell for all Danes, but don’t let that fool you. Oscar Danielson is a well-established name on the Nordic music scene, with a remarkable body of work that includes both authorship and a series of album releases.
Oscar Danielson debuted in 1996 with the critically acclaimed album Schysst & Svärd, followed by several more releases. His real breakthrough came with the follow-up album Gitarren är mit svärd in 1998.
He is best known for the song “Besvärjelse” from the album Stockholm Mitt Hjärta, which has been streamed over 3 million times on Spotify. In the 2000s, Oscar Danielson also released several novels alongside his career as a musician and songwriter.
Oscar Danielson is a genre of his own and is regarded by many as one of Sweden’s best lyricists. In 2012, he received a Swedish Grammy, the equivalent of the Grammy Awards, for the children’s album Det kostar på att vara barn.
Listening to Oscar Danielson’s velvety vocals delivering soft, understated folk-pop songs feels like receiving a musical hug. His exquisite guitar playing exudes an intimacy that perfectly complements his atmospheric songs.
His lyrics carry a naïve tone, laced with irony, and filled with quirky observations and dark humor. Danielson's songs are a captivating sensory embrace.

Danske Spor is a troubadour collective rooted in Aalborg. Through Danish songs, you’ll be guided through stories of newly sprouted forests, summer days in Aalborg’s city parks, the silhouettes of beautiful women, street vendors, and much more. All of it is woven together with music that sounds like a psychedelic blend of 1960s naivety, contemporary desperation, and love.
