Nordkraft Big Band, Remy Le Boeuf (US) & Danielle Wertz (US) – Silent Course Nordkraft Big Band invites you to an extraordinary concert experience as they join forces with award-winning American vocalist Danielle Wertz and their chief conductor, four-time Grammy-nominated saxophonist and composer Remy Le Boeuf, to present the music from their upcoming album Silent Course.
This concert offers a unique blend of jazz, folk, and contemporary classical elements, featuring newly composed works alongside special interpretations of songs by Joni Mitchell and Madison Cunningham. The music has been arranged specifically for Nordkraft Big Band by Remy Le Boeuf, whose cinematic and melody-driven style has been praised by The New York Times for its "breathtaking beauty."
Danielle Wertz has established herself as one of the most exciting voices on the international jazz scene. Her intimate and expressive vocals, combined with a deep musical sensibility, have earned her recognition in prestigious competitions such as the Thelonious Monk International Jazz Vocal Competition. She has toured extensively across the U.S. and Europe and collaborated with some of jazz’s leading artists.
Remy Le Boeuf has been Nordkraft Big Band’s chief conductor since 2023 and is regarded as one of today’s most influential jazz composers. Drawing inspiration from jazz, contemporary classical music, and indie rock, he has developed a distinctive style that pushes the boundaries of the big band genre.
In recent years, Nordkraft Big Band has emerged as one of Denmark’s most active and visionary big bands, earning critical acclaim for their recordings and international collaborations.
This concert is part of Nordkraft Big Band’s Big Band Night project, dedicated to introducing big band and jazz music to younger generations. Discounted tickets are available for students and young audiences.
