At this concert, Nordkraft Big Band celebrates the talent, strong ideas, and high musical craftsmanship flourishing in Northern Jutland. We have invited students from MGK-Nord and the Royal Academy of Music in Aalborg (DJM) to compose new music especially for Nordkraft Big Band.

Aalborg’s music scene is strong, and many music students are focused on developing their own material and artistic expression. We want to support this development and help bring it forward, and we are grateful that the students have given us the opportunity to work with them and their music.

We have received a wealth of high-quality material and selected a number of standout compositions, which we are now developing further together. The music will be premiered at this concert, which will also feature original works written for Nordkraft Big Band by, among others, Remy Le Boeuf and members of the band itself.
