Kōya Aalborg-based Kōya have burst onto the Danish metal scene, quickly gaining a reputation for ferocious live shows and a no-compromise, take-no-prisoners attitude. This is underlined by the band’s early presence at key stages and events such as Mono Goes Metal, When Copenhell Freezes Over, Copenhell and Summer Breeze (DE), among others. Kōya draw from contemporary post-hardcore and the crushing weight of sludge, fused with atmospheric elements from black metal and shoegaze. The result is a gripping, dynamic and intense sound that constantly balances control and chaos, restraint and ferality, where aggression and introspection collide. Their upcoming album Pendula (late summer 2026) marks a further sharpening of the band’s identity. The tempo is higher, the aggression more focused and the songwriting tighter, without sacrificing the atmospheric depth that defines Kōya’s sound. At its core lies a thematic exploration of inner duality and the realisation that control is often nothing more than an illusion. Kōya channel a distinctly Scandinavian sense of darkness, an inherent late-autumn bleakness, but deliver it live with raised fists, physical confrontation, raw northern charm and a glint of humour. There is no safe place in front of a Kōya stage.
Persecutor Danish thrash metal purveyors PERSECUTOR have cemented their place as one of the most energetic and uncompromising names on the modern metal scene. With their aggressive and catchy music, furiously fun live shows and visually striking appearance, the band is an explosive acquaintance – both on record and on stage. Persecutor’s second album “Vendetta” (2023) led the band to an opening concert at Copenhell, followed by a European tour in support of the legendary Illdisposed, several shows in Norway, Sweden, France and Germany, and a nomination for “Album of the Year” at the award show “Den Hårde Tone”. Persecutor has firmly established themselves on the country’s metal radar and is now aiming to resonate in the rest of Europe. Most recently, the band has played both the prominent showcase Eurosonic in the Netherlands and The Alternative Escape/The Great Escape in Brighton, UK. Prepare for a show packed with melodic riffs, hard-hitting drums, stadium choruses and somber lyrics.
