The Danish acid-power-beat-blues-jazz orchestra Ibrahim Electric has been one of Europe's most popular instrumental groups for over a decade. In 2020, they released their tenth album 'Time Machine' – a tribute to their early heroes, good times, and the fact that they still truly love playing together after almost 20 years!
The group, consisting of three giants in Danish music, namely guitarist Niclas Knudsen, drummer Stefan Pasborg, and Hammond organist Jeppe Tuxen, draws on references from jazz, funk, surf, Afrobeat, 50s rock 'n' roll, soul, blues, disco, and much, much more. All of this is mixed together in the classic "Ibrahim Electric stew," where the key elements are energy, power, virtuosity, and the joy of playing.
In recent years, Ibrahim Electric has established itself as one of the most original and popular orchestras on the European music scene. Their energetic, outgoing, and at times provocative music has delighted people wherever they have performed. Ibrahim Electric has played highly successful concerts at some of the world's largest and most prestigious festivals in countries such as the USA, Canada, Brazil, Cyprus, Spain, Norway, and Denmark.
Montreal Jazz Festival, Canada:
"Denmark's best trio is called Ibrahim Electric. The group's technical prowess is unparalleled in little Denmark, and perhaps that is why the trio has catapulted itself into outer space to test its talent on the planet Xhinus... The rumors from outer space are true: Ibrahim Electric is light-years ahead of the competition when it comes to reinventing themselves and pushing the three instruments to the farthest corners of the universe." - 5/6 Fyens Stifttidende.
