Children’s Metal Festival Goes on a Denmark Tour in 2025

In 2024, Denmark’s first metal festival for children was launched at Posten in Odense. Due to its massive success, a re-premiere was held at a sold-out VoxHall in the fall of 2024. With great pride, we can now announce that HXC Kids is going on tour to the four largest cities in Denmark!

HXC Kids was created to inspire children and young people to experience how inclusive, exciting, and fun it is to attend a rock show. In a world where children are often introduced to danceable mainstream pop, we believe that the youngest generation actually has a great need for – and a right to experience – authentic, live music performed by young, positive role models on their own terms.

HXC Kids is their day, where they can bring their parents or guardians along to a festival – not the other way around. "See you at the back of the venue, as the floor and stage are reserved for future generations!"

The Concept:

  • Alcohol-free.
  • Slushies & popcorn at affordable prices. Additional child-friendly beverages are available at the bar. Coffee & tea are also available for adults.
  • No entry for people over 18 unless accompanied by their own or other children.
  • Free face painting after admission.
  • Free signed posters available to take home.
  • A decibel level adjusted for the audience – we still recommend bringing ear protection.
  • Four bands on stage. Short 25-minute sets with quick changeovers between acts. Doors open at 1:00 PM, the first band plays at 2:00 PM, and the event ends around 4:00 PM.
  • 50/50 gender balance.
  • Three young and upcoming bands from different genres, plus one experienced band as the final act.
  • Special areas where kids can take a break and recharge before heading back into the pit.
  • A limited number of tickets to ensure the best possible conditions for children to experience and enjoy their first rock show.

The first edition of HXC Kids received rave reviews, so don’t miss out! Secure tickets for your children, nieces, nephews, cousins, or curious little music lovers – this will be an experience they will never forget. Tickets will sell fast, so get yours in advance to make sure you don’t miss out!

Experience 4 Bands at Studenterhuset:

Bag Lukkede Døre (åbner)

Raw, genuine, gritty, romantic, painful. Bag Lukkede Døre is a new, alternative core band from inner Copenhagen, blending Danish-language shoegaze femme vocals with downtuned, syncopated riffs.

Bag Lukkede Døre consists of Kristine Myltoft on vocals, Oskar Trier on guitar, Noa Bonke on bass, and Thias Petersen on drums. They started playing together in March 2023 and have been deeply passionate about music ever since. The band combines delicate vocal lines with heavy breakdowns and dancing riffs that get both the audience and the stage moving. Genre-wise, they mix everything they want, drawing influences from metal, shoegaze, punk, and pop. Even though BLD is a new band, they bring a roaring energy to the stage and have already played shows with bands like Tender Youth, Smooch!, and Jakobe.

"Bag Lukkede Døre is an example of young people rejecting our old genre fetishes, blending everything they feel like – whether it’s nu-metal structures and riffs or Rocazino-sounding, delicate Danish vocal lines. It’s raw and authentic, and the innocence in the Danish lyrics evokes memories of a simpler time, while guitar hits in the face tell the story of all that’s hard." – Tobias Holst, Selvtægt

Rottefænger

ROTTEFÆNGER is a young alternative rock band from Djursland, inviting listeners into their cryptic cosmos with hypnotic grooves and hard-hitting riffs. Vocalist Frej’s voice bridges the band’s many influences, ranging from surf and shoegaze to hard progressive rock.

Jakobe

Jakobe is a teenage Riot Grrrl punk band from Copenhagen, formed in late 2023. The band consists of Carla Vors (vocals), Stella Stampe (bass), May Luna (guitar), and Anton Schoubye (drums). Their debut album Surf N Turf was released in April 2024, featuring a classic punk sound with a strong feminist message – as well as hope for more young people in and around the punk scene.

Endarken

The energetic death/thrash band Endarken released their debut album The Plague of Truth in 2021, followed by the EP Post Mortem in 2023. Since their debut, they have toured extensively and performed at major festivals like Aalborg Metal, Odense Metal Fest, and Copenhagen Metal Fest. Endarken is known for their insanely energetic live shows, guaranteeing a chaotic mosh pit. This is a band that lives to bring their music straight to the audience!
