Join us for a Ukrainian party when some of the most promising bands from the vibrant Ukrainian rock scene visit Denmark.

On the tour UKRAINE ROCKS six bands are touring around the country to introduce the people to Ukrainian guitar riffs and drum solos. The majority of the bands have previously played shows around Europe but it is the first time that we in Denmark get the chance to experience them.

The chosen bands represent Ukraine in the best way; they deliver fantastic musical experiences. Furthermore, it is a rock show that is more important than ever before.

Most of the musicians have experienced the war up close. Many of them have families in the affected areas. Some live there themselves. And others are in the defence of Kyiv. When they come to Denmark it is to show the colors of Ukraine and fight in the way that they do best. Namely with the music.

For a few hours we will gather in the free space that only music can offer. We see a different side of Ukraine - and finally, the concert helps to support Ukraine both symbolically and financially.

The bands you can experience at Studenterhuset are:

Obrij

OBRIJ was formed in the city Uzhhorod in 2013. They mix european deathmetal, doom metal and hardcore. In their nine years as a band they have amongst other things released two EP'S, several splitalbums, singles and music videos. Bandet also has played plenty of concerts in Ukraine.

Kasu Weri

Kasu Wei is a stoner/sludge metal band from Kyiv. They were formed in 2008, and the name is Papuan and means ‘horned head‘ which gave its name to the Casauer bird.

Risin Sabotage

”It's better to hear us live once than to listen to our record 10 times.” So says Risin Sabotage who believes that music is a part of their soul. The band plays stoner/dessert rock, and the past two years they have been working on a new album that unfortunately was delayed due to the unrest. There is a big contrast between the band's daily life before the war and now. In 2017 they played amongst other things 68 concerts and participated in Soundart Fest.
