With the charismatic vocalist Sofie Trolde in the front, Tundra has already played a large number of critically acclaimed concerts in their relatively short lifespan. In addition to a considerable number of Danish venues, Tundra has performed at the Reeperbahn Festival in Hamburg, SPOT festival, Smukfest, and Nibe Festival, and they have made a name for themselves by challenging the concert format with performances at unique locations such as Thingbæk Kalkminer, Nordsøen Oceanarium and in an old rescue house in Lønstrup. Right now, Tundra is working on completing their second studio album, and its primary songs from the upcoming album they will be performing at tonight's concert. In contrast to the debut album from 2019, the new album is written in Danish, and the musical expression is more shaped by acoustic instruments, which in collaboration with analog synthesizers and würlitzer, invite the listener into an atmospheric and intimate space. Here, the playful and improvisational meet with neat, sharp-cut folk-pop compositions, and it is all bound together by Sofie Trolde's unique and powerful vocals. The new songs have been created during the lockdown, and in 2020 Tundra was allowed to borrow a large empty church in Aalborg to use as a rehearsal room. The ceiling height in the church room, and a luminous world outside, which in a flash seemed completely changed, can in a way be heard in both the music and in the lyrics, where the restlessness continuously shouts for competition with hope.
• Line-up: • Sofie Trolde - Vocals • Rasmus Bak Christiansen - Guitar and harp • Jeppe Abildgaard - Bass and sitar • Nikolaj Svaneborg - Piano and synthesizer
