In your twenties, you often find yourself caught between a liberated youth with grand dreams and an adulthood on the other side that distills those same dreams with a sober perspective. It's like 'fabric rolls' weighing down your expectations of life. Aalborg duo Maaneland gives voice to this on their latest single "Metervarer Til En Drømmer" (Fabrics for a Dreamer).

The duo, created by Andreas Rødbro and Alexander Bie, made their debut in 2021 and have since worked closely with Søren Zahle (Peter Sommer, Jacob Dinesen), who co-produced the group's debut EP "Metervarer." In May 2023, Maaneland follows up with their debut album "Metervarer Til En Drømmer," a record that both sonically and lyrically reflects the band's journey thus far. With a natural paradox between creating high-energy, grandiose pop/rock and singing about the melancholic spaces in life's margins, the songs express an exploration of identity. They comment on a contemporary world where everything is glorified on social media platforms – highlights and life milestones take the foreground, and one must be unique and stand out. Maaneland aims to be the immediate and recognizable sound of the in-between time – about the day after tomorrow and not just the next big event.

The Maaneland project emerged on a school trip when Alexander and Andreas began their music education in Aalborg. A meeting that turned into a budding friendship and later a strong musical collaboration with grand visions and dreams. Since then, they have partnered with several experienced musicians, produced and recorded a lot of new music in the past couple of years, and performed all over Denmark, including at SPOT Festival (2021), Musikhuset in Aarhus, SKOVROCK, and Musikkens Hus in Aalborg.

Buckle up your helmet! or take it off completely? When EMIL welcomes you into a universe of intensity, introspection, and resignation. It moves quickly when all the idiots need to be told that they're a bunch of jerks, and it becomes tender when EMIL realizes that he might be the jerk after all. EMIL wraps punk energy and gutter poetry in pop music that you can both switch your brain off and dance to, but also pick up your emotions and reflect upon. Join a therapy session with EMIL, where it's the troublemaker setting the agenda, not the social worker – although EMIL keeps the bike helmet on for a little while longer.
