Simon Lynges music has a way of capturing one's soul, simultaneously melodic and beautiful yet powerful in its presence and daringness. His lyrics are poetic and speak candidly from personal experience, sometimes about inner darkness and existential challenges. Sharp observations of our world and humanity are woven into his songs, and a genuine appreciation of life's beauty guides the listener into a joyful space, even amidst deep sorrows.

Simon grew up in both Greenland and Denmark, always feeling a strong attachment to his Arctic homeland with its rich, untouched nature and deep connection to the earth and its creatures. Simon's musical roots stem from Greenland, where his father is a renowned accordion player, and his grandfather was a composer and conductor. As a boy, Simon began singing in a church choir in Denmark. In his teenage years, he started writing his own songs, inspired by the music of artists such as Jimi Hendrix, The Doors, Simon & Garfunkel, and Crosby Stills & Nash.

Simon's music first took him to Copenhagen, then to the United Kingdom, and now the USA. However, this Friday evening in April, Simon and his friend will make a stop at Studenterhuset in Aalborg. Here, he will perform his beautiful, lyrical songs, including tracks from his latest album, 'Dark Brown Eyes', released in September 2023.

Regarding the concert, Simon Lynge says, "It will be a mix of new and old songs from my five albums, which are mostly in English. However, I have just released a Greenlandic song called 'Eqqanniippunga', which you can also look forward to hearing at the concert."

Before Simon Lynge takes the stage, you can experience Sigurvin Sigurdsson as support, an Icelandic Aalborg native with an Americana style. He delivers his music with a warm presence and a strong vocal, charmingly authentic. Tonight, Sigurvin performs as a duo with Kasper Dons on piano/mandolin.
